It’s called Unprecedented Times: Strategies and Tactics Every Leader Needs to Know During a Pandemic.

“We really just wanted to come together and talk about how do we survive and how do we continue to be leaders in a time like this,” Thomas Otabil said.

In her chapter, Thomas Otabil focused on how to help African American leaders teach their children about the best financial practices.

“We start by leading by example. By making sure that we are doing the practical things that are needed to really track and manage our finances in a time where we know that we are faced with inequity and racism and we’re fighting to be paid equally,” she said.

Cara Owsley is one of the contributing authors.

In her chapter, she talks about her struggle of staying at home during the pandemic and how she’s managing her time.

“I feel that if I was experiencing being lonely, then other people had to be feeling the same way and I feel like when you’re going through something it’s not about yourself and how you got out of it. But you should be able to share what helped you through that experience so you can help somebody else,” Owsley said.

In another chapter of the book contributing author Patrice Matthews discusses her fitness journey and she's gotten creative with her workouts.

“Just like I was having difficulties as an instructor, I’m sure there are other people as well that were facing the same experience, maybe even worse than myself,” said Matthews.
