There is a tornado watch in effect for counties in east and northeast Ohio until 8 p.m. as storms roll through the state.
There is the chance for tornadoes, quarter-sized hail and wind up to 70 mph.
Affected counties include Belmont, Carroll, Columbiana, Coshocton, Guernsey, Harrison, Holmes, Jefferson, Mahoning, Monroe, Muskingum, Noble, Portage, Stark, Summit, Trumbull, Tuscarawas and Wayne.
There had earlier been a tornado warning for east central Ashtabula County in northeast Ohio that expired at 1:15 p.m.
Areas in northeast Ohio are also under a flood watch until 8 p.m. Saturday as slow-moving storms pass through. One to two inches of rain is possible.
Remember, if you encounter water over roadways, turn around. Do not attempt to drive through it.
Parts of southwest Ohio, including Cincinnati and Dayton, are under a severe thunderstorm watch until midnight.
