Opened in 1926, the Hotel Figueroa was the largest commercial building funded by women for women and was a haven for solo female travelers who were normally prohibited from checking into most hotels without a male chaperone.

Over the years, the hotel fell into disrepair but was renovated and reopened in 2018, including a corridor dedicated to artwork by established and emerging women artists in LA.

The gallery now features a new series of paintings called ā€œGiving Grace,ā€ by artists Dame Moore, which celebrates ā€œwomanhood in a place that is founded by women, and has a lasting legacy of championing women.ā€
