EL SEGUNDO, Calif. — The 2025 Greater Los Angeles Homeless Count is finally underway after wildfire-related delays.
But LAHSA, the agency that conducts the count, is now facing questions about possible conflicts of interest and financial mismanagement.

Programs are hampered by poor oversight, resulting in an inability to track substantial funds allocated to the city’s assistance services.
It marked a significant development due in large part to a reduction in drug overdoses, Department of Public Health officials announced.
The number of homeless people in Orange County increased 28% from 2022 to 2024 according to their point-in-time count.
"I think there can be a lot more education around what it means to count people who are experiencing homelessness."
Organizations are saying it's the most restrictive law in the state when it comes to aiding homeless people.
The 2025 Homeless Count is underway across Los Angeles County.
