Authorities cleared Loma Linda University Medical Center after reports Wednesday evening of a possible armed suspect.
Around 6:30 p.m., the San Bernardino County Sheriff posted on X that they were aware of reports of the individual.
"We are aware of reports of a possible armed individual at Loma Linda Hospital. Deputies are on scene and actively clearing the facility. Please avoid the area and use alternative routes. For real-time updates, follow our official social media channels. Stay safe and remain vigilant."
Just after 8 p.m., the sheriff's office posted an update on social media saying that law enforcement was actively cleaning the hospital and no shots were heard. No injuries were reported.
Roughly 10 minutes later, they posted another update saying that Loma Linda Hospital had been cleared and that the incident appeared to have been a swatting call. The post explained the area would reopen shortly.
In a press conference following the incident, San Bernadino County Sheriff Shannon Dicus said they would go after the person that allegedly made the false call.
