Wreaths Across America is gearing up to place thousands of holiday wreaths at the Sarasota National Cemetery — but the organization is still in need of donations and volunteers.
Because of the pandemic, the ceremony will start on December 17 and end December 19.
Spectators will be watching the event virtually.
“We had to find a way where volunteers can work safely,” organizer Meshia Robertson said.

She said donations and volunteers have decreased because of COVID-19, and they are continuing to look for people to help leading up to the event.
“The best thing we can do to honor these men and women is to never forget them,” Robertson said. “We will always work to keep their memories alive.”
