STURBRIDGE, Mass. - A Central Massachusetts police department is resuming its investigation for a 2016 cold case.
Sturbridge Police said they'll be in the area of Vinton Road next Friday to search for Brent Young.
Police said Young assaulted his girlfriend and stabbed his 16-year-old son on September 16, 2016.
He then sustained a self-inflicted knife wound to the neck and ran away.
Police said he was never located after a three-day search.
There's been no activity on his name or through banking institutions or social media and he's had no known contact with family or friends.
Police said they'll be able to conduct a better search of the area thanks to advancements in technology.
Residents can expect to see emergency response teams and vehicles between nine in the morning and two in the afternoon on March 21st.
