Feltman’s of Coney Island is a small veteran-run business. Two brothers, Michael and Joe Quinn, are the owners, their wives are both nurses. The brothers wanted to help, so they started delivering “Hot Dog for Heroes" care packages to essential workers.

Michael and Joe's brother, Jimmy, was killed in the September 11 attacks. Michael says this pandemic reminded them of the time right after, when so many people needed a lift.

"We are giving out free hotdogs, about 1,000 at this point, to NYPD, to nurses, doctors to ICU workers," he said.

The co-founders of Argo Prep, which is a Brooklyn-based education startup, have personally delivered more than a thousand workbooks to teachers and parents in Brooklyn and Queens. The CEO and Co-Founder, Anayet Chowdhury, knew right away from personal experience how difficult homeschooling would be for low-income families and students with limited computer or wifi access and wanted to help.

"We decided to launch an initiative to pledge a million dollars in online educational resources to our K to eight math and ELA learning platform," he explained. "Along with $50,000 in physical workbooks that we are personally delivering and also shipping out to low income families."
