The suspected driver in the 2016 hit-and-run that killed popular Spanish radio host DJ Jinx Paul has been arrested.

According to the Brooklyn District Attorney's office, 28-year-old Kevin Ozorio was arraigned Thursday.

Jean Paul Guerrero, better known as DJ Jinx Paul on Mega 97.9 FM, was crossing Jamaica and Sheffield Avenues in East New York when he was struck by a Honda Accord.

The driver fled the scene.

A passerby called 911 and Guerrero was taken to Brookdale Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Brooklyn DA Eric Gonzalez said in a statement: "Instead of calling an ambulance or offering aid, this defendant heartlessly left the scene after allegedly striking and killing a beloved member of the community known to many as DJ Jinx Paul. After an exhaustive and extensive investigation a grand jury has now charged him in connection with this crime and we will seek to hold him accountable. I am determined to keep our streets safe for all pedestrians, bicyclists and drivers."

Ozorio is charged with leaving the scene of an accident with death, and tampering with evidence.

He faces up to seven years in prison if convicted.
