Millions of Americans who have been unable to pay their rent due to the pandemic are no longer protected by the federal eviction moratorium. This comes after the U.S. Supreme Court struck down the federal eviction freeze imposed by President Joe Biden's administration.

However, despite the Supreme Court ruling, New York State's eviction ban will remain in effect until August 31, and Gov. Kathy Hochul says her administration is exploring all options to further protect New Yorkers from eviction. The governor also says that she is in negotiations with state legislative leaders to hold a special session next week to extend protections.

Jolie Milstein, President and CEO of the New York State Association for Affordable Housing, and Brendan Cheney, the Director of Policy and Communications of the New York Housing Conference, joined Political Anchor Errol Louis on "Inside City Hall" to talk about the eviction moratorium and more.
