The state's new public campaign system is designed to help get big money out of state politics.

It matches small campaign contributions with public dollars, with the goal of attracting more candidates for state office and reducing the need to rely on deep-pocketed donors. 

However state lawmakers are now considering delaying the program by two years, and advocates are pushing back.
