Rebecca Fischer, the executive director of New Yorkers Against Gun Violence, joined Errol Louis on “Inside City Hall” Tuesday night to talk about her role as a witness in Monday’s House Judiciary Committee hearing.

Fischer was called to testify on behalf of the Democrats.

Rep. Jim Jordan of Ohio was at the helm of the hearing, which was supposed to shed light on both crime in New York City and Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg's policies.

But as recent NYPD data indicates, shootings and murders have dropped in the city.

“Frankly, having Jim Jordan and Matt Gaetz in our city, sitting in the middle of 26 Federal Plaza, raised a lot of eyebrows there as to why leaders of states with some of the weakest gun laws in the country are coming here,” Fischer said. “They’ve chosen New York because we have stood strong up to the extremists in the party, and we have some of the strongest gun laws here.”
