Sarina Jain has been coined the “Indian Jane Fonda” as the creator of the original Masala Bhangra workout videos. She has been credited with bringing Indian dance to the U.S. fitness industry.

Jain joined “News All Day” for Women Wednesday to share about her over 20-years teaching dancers the Bhangra-Bollywood dance mix. She adds that there are mental and physical health benefits to dancing.

Jain says that most students are beginners of all ages who want to venture into Indian dance and music. Jain’s students are often intrigued to learn a few steps if they are attending an Indian wedding.

They practice in locations around the city, including the Sunlight Studios in Times Square. Performances take place at venues around the city as well.
