You could soon be able to grab a burger, even a beer, at the 42nd Street subway station beneath the Port Authority building.

The MTA is finally looking to fill all those empty retail spaces.

Local and national vendors can now apply to set up shop at the 42nd Street Port Authority subway station.

And in the coming months, the MTA wants tenants in spaces at other stations—including Rockefeller Center, and Times Square.

The idea is to re-create the retail success of Grand Central Terminal. The MTA says it wants a variety of vendors.

Food and alcohol sales will be permitted.

New stores should be up and running under Port Authority by spring of 2021, at the latest.
