As you take down your Christmas tree, the city is reminding you that there's an environmentally-friendly way to dispose of it.

Every day until January 11th, you can drop off your tree at a "Mulchfest" location to have it recycled into wood chips.

The Parks and Sanitation Departments say the chips are used to nourish trees and plants citywide.

If you wait to drop off your tree until January 4th through 11th, you can watch it get chipped right in front of you, and get a free bag of mulch to take home for your own garden.
