The city’s homeless shelter system now has a total of seven confirmed cases of the new coronavirus after six were announced Thursday night. All six of the new cases are from different facilities.

Three of the new cases resulted in hospitalization.

The department has converted a shelter into an isolation facility, where some of the individuals are staying.

A department spokesperson said the city had a total of 100 isolated units that are available for confirmed cases of coronavirus.

A spokesperson said the shelters where cases have emerged remain open and have been “comprehensively cleaned."
