NEW YORK - The coronavirus pandemic has forced the closure of Record Mart in the Times Square subway station.

The record shop was the oldest in Manhattan.

It originally opened in 1958 inside the Union Square station before moving to Times Square.

Record Mart carried popular English music but specialized in Latin music.

It also sold an extensive collection of Jazz, Classical and Caribbean music.

The owners are moving into the vintage audio business, where they buy, refurbish, and sell audio equipment.
