COVID-19 hospitalizations dropped slightly around New York Sunday, while confirmed coronavirus cases ticked up across the state.

According to Governor Andrew Cuomo, the statewide COVID-19 positivity rate stands at 3.52%, up from 3.15% yesterday.

Total COVID-19 hospitalizations are at 4,529, and 64 more New Yorkers died due to the virus in the past 24 hours, Cuomo said.

The governor’s office also announced the number of COVID-19 patients in intensive care units has dropped to 877, a new low since December 6.

Here in the city, Mayor de Bill Blasio on Sunday reported there have been more than 3,300 new cases of COVID-19 in the past day, as well as 253 new hospitalizations.

Overall, the city's seven-day average positivity rate sits at 5.83%.

Meanwhile, the governor's office says a total of 8.8 million vaccine doses have been administered statewide, with 194, doses administered over 24 hours.

Just over 29% of New Yorkers have received at least one vaccine dose, and 16% are fully vaccinated.
