NEW YORK — American Airlines is cutting nearly 30 flight routes, including 14 to and from LaGuardia Airport and five from JFK.

It includes flights to cities including Boston, Charleston and Toronto.

Some routes will end as soon as January 4, 2022 with others sticking around until June.

In a statement, American said it "optimized its flying schedule to better connect customers with the destinations most important to them."

The airline says it has reached out to affected customers to offer alternate arrangements.
