The Russian Consulate on the Upper East Side of Manhattan was vandalized overnight Friday, according to the NYPD.

There did not seem to be any words or messaging in the paint, the NYPD said.

It is being investigated as a possible bias incident, according to officials.

The vandalism appeared hours after Russian President Vladimir Putin signed treaties to annex occupied areas of Ukraine.

Following that announcement, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy issued a statement saying his country would be submitting an “accelerated” application to join the NATO military alliance.
