The Flatiron Building, named for its iconic shape, is set for auction later this month, sources said.

Sources tell NY1 the five current owners of the structure cannot agree on the parameters of a lease to a new tenant along with other sticking points.

The 1902 structure was the first steel skyscraper built in the city. Fifth Avenue, Broadway and West 22nd Street border the triangular block.

It has been empty since 2020 after its only office tenant, MacMillan Publishers, moved to lower Manhattan.

After the move, NY1 got an exclusive look at a proposed $80 million renovation project aimed at bringing the building into the 21st century and drastically reducing the landmark's carbon footprint.

The 22-story structure goes to auction on March 22.
