Complaints over parking in New York City are nothing new.

Streetsblog editor Gersh Kuntzman said they have been going on for more than a century.

Kuntzman and his staff looked through hundreds of newspapers from the dawn of cars to the modern day and found complaints about the lack of parking in New York City as early as 1917.

He joined Pat Kiernan and Jamie Stelter on "Mornings On 1" Wednesday to discuss their findings, and what could be done to move away from private car ownership in the five boroughs.
