AUSTIN, Texas – It is the season of giving, but some children have never received a present. Austin bikers are giving those kids the opportunity for some holiday joy with their annual cause.

Bikers rode down to the Helping Hand Home for Children for the twenty-ninth year, while revving their engines and giving kids a show.

"It sends a strong message to the children that their lives matter and that someone cares about them," said Ted Keyser, Executive Director.

Every year hundreds of bikers from Central Texas and beyond stop by the children’s home. The home provides a safe place for children who are healing from physical, emotional, and sexual abuse. Some are also victims of neglect or abandonment.

Beyond the entertainment, the bikers brought gifts for the children, who likely wouldn’t have received presents for the holidays.

"These kids have been through a lot and when they sees these motorcycles come in, all their troubles go away for a little while," said one of the organizers, Bobby Lasseter

Some of the gifts will be saved for birthdays, but also for those who might need a pick-me-up.
