CEDAR PARK, Texas – A massive 157,000-square-foot indoor sports complex is slated for development in Cedar Park.

Real estate developer iSport announced the plans to create the complex, which would feature two ice rinks, turf fields, food options, virtual reality and spaces for private events.

The operator of the ice rink will be family-owned business Chaparral Ice. The complex will house two regulation-sized National Hockey League ice rinks for traveling hockey games, figure skating, curling and public ice skating.

There will also be two turf fields; one indoor and one outdoor. The fields would be used for soccer, lacrosse, football and other sports.

Athletes of all ages can also work on their skills injury-free with the augmented reality and virtual reality technologies.

The complex would be located on 15.4 acres off of U.S. Highway 183A Toll and Scottsdale Drive. The sports complex is just a piece of the 120-acre Scottsdale Crossing Master Plan Industrial Park. A mixed-use development, Scottsdale Crossing plans to bring the Cedar Park community a variety of amenities.

“Right now, we hear a lot about how diversification of activities is the best path to success for our children. However, most parents shudder at the thought of driving from place to place, chasing two or more kids around the metro area,” said Ryan Raya, owner of Chaparral Ice. “We understand entirely, so at iSports, we are bringing an array of athletics together in a single spot. We are very excited for this opportunity.”

The sports complex is expected to break ground in early fall this year.
