WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Texas — People who work directly in addiction recovery say they're short on resources in Williamson County.

Experts say a successful recovery involves many components, such as overdose treatment options, sobering or detox centers, and peer support groups.

They say Williamson County has some, but not all, of those components in one place.

"To have this full spectrum, unfortunately... you have to leave Williamson County and go to Travis County,” Rosana Sielaff with LifeSteps Coalition said. “You have communities there that offer all the components that you need and offer support for everything that you need."

Life Steps is organizing an Overdose Awareness Day this Saturday in Georgetown. It's a chance to honor the memory of those who have died.

It's scheduled for 9:30 a.m. at the Lakeview Pavilion.
