AUSTIN, Texas — High school athletes across the nation made major decisions on NCAA’s Football Signing Day.

  • Chase Griffin signed with UCLA
  • He attends Hutto High School
  • Griffin won Gatorade Player of the Year

Signing to play Division 1 football requires extreme dedication — something Chase Griffin understood early on.

“Started reading at 3, math problems at 4, always an exceptional student. At 8 or 9 decided he wanted to play football and loved it,” said his father, Will Griffin.

On Wednesday, the Hutto High School senior signed to play quarterback at UCLA.

“I really learned to enjoy the process, the recruiting process, and high school. The more you appreciate the process and go through it and realize all you can take from that, you see everything as a blessing,” Chase Griffin said.

Chase Griffin was recently named the Gatorade Player of the Year in Texas.
