The 107-page report also noted some of Austin’s troubles, including traffic and housing affordability. The report stated that the issues could be exacerbated since Austin has the highest-projected population growth rate for the coming five years among the 80 markets analyzed in the report.

The methodology considered many aspects, such as the city slogan (“Keep Austin Weird”), a deep pool of talent, a unique and popular lifestyle, and the City of Austin’s commitment to business and real estate expansion.

Emerging Trends in Real Estate is an annual industry outlook for the real estate and land use industry, issued by ULI and PricewaterhouseCoopers.
