AUSTIN, Texas -- The following is a list of events, attractions, businesses and schools in Austin and surrounding areas that have closed, been postponed or canceled in response to the COVID-19 pandemic:

  • Community gatherings of 250 people or more in Austin-Travis County are prohibited 
  • University of Texas at Austin has extended spring break until Monday, March 30
  • Austin Community College has extended spring break and suspended classes until March 30
  • St. Edwards University has extended spring break and suspended classes until April 4
  • Concordia University athletics cancels spring competitions, practices
  • South by Southwest festival canceled
  • Rodeo Austin canceled
  • Blanton Museum in Austin closed for two weeks beginning on March 13
  • Frank Erwin Center and Bass Concert Hall events postponed
  • Dell Technologies Match Play
  • NCAA tournaments
  • ZACH Theatre in Austin has canceled performances, camps and classes through March 31
  • LBJ Presidential Library closed to public
  • MotoGP Grand Prix of the Americas postponed until November
  • ABC Kite Festival canceled
  • Urban Music Festival postponed
  • Willie Nelson’s Luck Reunion 2020 canceled
  • City of Buda has canceled all City-sponsored events through April 12
  • Austin Spring Boutique at the HEB Center in Cedar Park has been canceled
  • Recreational Sports facilities at UT Austin will be closed until further notice
  • Club Latinitas suspends programs until May 1
  • Concordia University Texas has canceled the remainder of spring competitions, practices
  • Apple stores are closed until March 27
  • Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center
  • Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative member service center lobby is closed. Drive-through remains open
  • According to Golf ATX, all City of Austin Golf ATX golf courses will be closed starting March 15, until further notice
  • Beginning Monday, March 16, all City of Austin library branches will be closed
  • Beginning Monday, March 16, all City of Austin non-essential Municipal Court dockets will be rescheduled
  • Beginning Monday, March 16, the Austin Animal Center will be closed to the public
  • Beginning Monday, March 16, all City of Austin pools will be closed
  • Beginning Monday, March 16, all City of Austin athletic programs will be closed
  • Beginning Monday, March 16, all City of Austin recreation centers will be closed
  • Beginning Monday, March 16, all City of Austin cultural centers will be closed
  • SPRING BREAK CAMPS: all camps and other spring break activities will happen through Wednesday, March 18, and will be suspended at the end of the day Wednesday
  • Old Settler's Music Festival is postponed until the fall, date to be announced
  • Eeyore's 57th Annual Birthday Party is canceled 
  • Pflugerville facilities closed trough March 31 - PAWS, Recreation Center, Library, Municipal Court and Recycle Center
  • Gold's Gym all locations closed until March 31
  • LA Fitness all locations closed until April 1
  • Orange Theory Fitness all locations closed until March 31
  • Sherwood Forest Faire closes its fourth week of its eight-weekend season
  • All Alamo Drafthouse locations are closed as of March 16

Schools

  • Austin ISD closed from March 23 - April 3
  • Bastrop ISD is closing schools through April 5
  • Blanco ISD resumes March 23
  • Burnet CISD- all school-sponsored events and student travel will be suspended at least through Sunday, March 22
  • Comal ISD closed 3/16-3/20
  • Del Valle operating as normal, will announce more informaiton by March 19
  • Dipping Springs ISD is closing schools until April 3
  • Georgetown ISD will close schools through April 3
  • Hays County ISD will be closed until April 5
  • Hutto ISD closed for break, suspend normal operations until April 3. Students return to school April 6. 
  • Eanes ISD will suspend operations March 23 - April 5
  • Elgin ISD closed for two weeks following spring break
  • Lago Vista ISD deep cleaning during spring break
  • Lake Travis ISD is closing schools through April 5
  • Leander ISD is suspending school through April 5
  • Liberty Hill ISD closed from March 23-April 3
  • Lockhart ISD closed beyond April 3, no return date scheduled
  • Manor ISD extended closure 3/16-3/27
  • Marble Falls expects to resume 3/24
  • McDade ISD closed for two weeks following spring break
  • New Braunfels ISD closed 3/16-3/22, all extracurricular activities, practices and athletic events are suspended
  • Pflugerville ISD closing schools until March 27
  • San Marcos CISD is closing schools through April 5
  • Smithville ISD suspending normal school operations March 23 through April 5
  • Round Rock ISD will be closed from March 23 to April 3
