BROOKLYN, N.Y. - An off-duty police officer is facing charges in connection with a deadly car crash in Brooklyn over the weekend.

Rohan Shaw, 47, is charged with vehicular manslaughter, criminally negligent homicide, and DWI.

The crash happened Sunday morning at East 55th Street and Foster Avenue in Flatlands.

Police say Shaw was driving east on Foster when he collided with a Mazda traveling north on East 55th.

The impact caused the Mazda to spin into a telephone pole, killing a female passenger.

Another woman inside the Mazda was taken to the hospital, and the driver ran away.

Police are still looking for that driver.
