BROOKLYN, N.Y. — A city driver has been taken into custody following a deadly collision with a pedestrian early Thursday morning in Brooklyn.

The NYPD says the victim, a 32-year-old man from California, was trying to cross Bushwick Avenue near Meserole Street in Williamsburg just after 12 a.m. when he was struck by a black Chevy Camaro.

He was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The driver, identified as Tyler Patrick, 18, of Brooklyn, was not injured.

He is now facing multiple charges including vehicular manslaughter, assault, reckless endangerment, operating a motor vehicle impaired by drugs and reckless driving.
