BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Buffalo Museum of Science encouraged families to rock, rattle and roll on Saturday.

It's all part of the museum's efforts to help guests better explore music and culture.

The daylong celebration marked the end of the museum's traveling exhibition, Medieval to Metal: The Art and Evolution of the Guitar.

As part of the festivities, the museum hosted several live musical performances, including the Slyboots Drum Ensemble and classical guitarist Joseph Mahfoud.

Guests were also encouraged to learn more about how cicadas sing and the movement of seismic waves.

They could even decorate their own rattle and create their own Javanese shadow puppets to be used during the live performances.
