This weekend, raise a pint while providing some support to the Buffalo Hearing and Speech Center during the 19th annual Buffalo Brewfest, taking place Friday at Riverworks.

People can try 20 samples of beer from more than 40 local, regional and even international brewers.

This is one of the biggest fundraisers of the year for the Buffalo Hearing and Speech Center Foundation, which serves kids and adults with hearing and speech disorders as well as learning disabilities.

It’s an organization that Board Chairman Dan Mecca hopes people learn more about and realize what it does for the community.

“It’s immensely important,” Mecca said. “The net proceeds go to support all of the things we need. Teachers, classrooms to help provide services to infants, children and adults in Western New York.”

Designated drivers get into the event for free and will be provided water and soda.

Tickets are $35 for general admission, but go up $10 on Friday before the fun starts flowing. They can be purchased here.
