BUFFALO, N.Y. — A project to transform the Riverline will soon get underway thanks to some help from local companies.

The First Niagara Foundation in partnership with KeyBank was awarded $40,000 — in addition to a $20,000 grant earlier in 2020 — and Moog Inc. was awarded $75,000 to be distributed over three years.

The money will help turn the former DL&W Rail Corridor from Canalside to the Buffalo River into a greenway for walking, bicycling, and winter activities like snowshoeing and cross-country skiing.

It will connect to parks and paddle boat launches along the Buffalo River, and to trails that go to Canalside and the Outer Harbor.

Spectrum News is told that this design process will include input from the community.
