As a recent Buffalo convert, Revathi Janaswamy joins Spectrum News 1 excited to give a voice to her newly adopted community.

A New York University graduate who has lived everywhere up and down the east coast from Massachusetts to Maryland, she is most looking forward to meeting everyone in Western New York and getting the opportunity to tell their stories. Revathi is most proud of a story she covered while working in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, involving a COVID memorial created by a local family to honor more than 500 people lost to the virus by lighting luminaries (bags filled with sand and LED lights).

When not reporting the news, you’ll most likely find her spending quality time with family – her two cats Poe and Rumi. There’s also a good chance she can be found exploring Niagara Falls State Park, watching movies or trying to track down the perfect dish of chicken over rice.
