ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — Whether you like your wings hot, mild, cajun or barbecue, you can find all those fabulous flavors this weekend at the National Buffalo Chicken Wing Festival at Highmark Stadium.

This year marks the 20th edition of the event, and the 2022 celebration has a lot of new things to look forward to.

"Wing King" Drew Cerza described the plethora of activities that visitors will be able to enjoy.

"We got your wings, we've got some new restaurants, some new flavors, over 100 different flavors from some of the best restaurants from across the country," said Cerza. "You get to go on the field. You know it's surreal being on this field. We have three different music stages, so wherever you go you're going to hear live music. We've got a new area with some sampling of some spirits. Up top on restaurant row, you can see what's going live on the field on a big screen TV. So there's lots of action, crazy contests, bobbing for wings in a kiddie pool full of bleu cheese. Joey Chestnut is here for the big chicken wing eating championship. We've got the Super Fans coming. So it's just going to be very Bills-like, very Buffalo, very wings-like."

There will also be a mullet competition at 4 p.m. on Saturday. The event is a qualifier for the USA Mullet Championships.

The festival runs from noon-9 p.m. on Saturday and noon-7 p.m. on Sunday.

Tickets are $20 at the gate. Children 8 years old and under are free.
