The Niagara County Legislature voted to adopt a $343 million budget Tuesday by a 12-1 margin.

The budget includes a provision, included at the end of the discussion process, to provide $100,000 for tourism shuttles and the Niagara Military Affairs Council.

In the spending plan, taxes are reduced to their lowest level in decades, a rate of $7.10 per every $1,000 of assessed value. This represents a 2.3 percent tax cut from the previous year.

Also included in the budget is a pay raise for county employees, including legislators, union and public employees. They’re set to receive a raise of up to 18 percent, the first raise in nearly 20 years.
