A Troy woman is facing attempted murder and criminal possession of a weapon charges after an early morning stabbing sent a 24-year-old to the hospital with serious injuries.

Police say 23-year-old Autumn Hinchcliff was arrested after a stabbing on 2nd Street near Washington Park. Hinchcliff pleaded not guilty in Troy City Court Thursday.

Authorities say Hinchcliff has previously been charged with assault for a separate incident at the same address back in February. The victim in both cases is the same.

Police say the victim was transported to Albany Medical Center and is in stable condition.

"She’s got some heavy charges that she’s facing now as a result of this. Like I said, thank God the victim is probably going to be okay in the long run. It’s going to take a little while though," said Troy Police Deputy Chief Dan DeWolf.

Hinchcliff is being held without bail.
