The Great New York State Fair will not only potentially be five days longer, there will also be lower ticket prices.

Fair officials announced Tuesday morning that tickets will cost $3 via a pre-sale online purchase or $5 at the gate.

They said they will continue to run daily specials for certain groups, and children 12 and under will continue to be free.

However, it appears that Dollar Thursdays are not coming back this year. There is only one $1 day listed on the calendar, and that is on Labor Day.

If you are looking to get an even better deal though, you can go online this Thursday. The State Fair website will be holding a one-day sale of admission tickets for $2 each. You can buy up to 8 tickets.

About 10,000 tickets are being made available at that price.
