If you would like to get more involved in the community, one local women's group says look no further.

The Junior League of Syracuse is a not-for-profit dedicated to helping local girls and women. On Saturday, they held an open house looking for new members.

The group takes part in different community service programs during the year like a partnership with the Chadwick Residence, which helped local women gain life skills, learn more about finances, and gained good parenting methods.

Although the organization has been around since 1920, they say a big goal this year is to increase inclusion and diversity among members.

"We're looking for anybody that wants to improve our community, that is looking for friendship, and a group of women who are supportive and really love Syracuse," said Junior League Syracuse Membership Chair Kate Zwecker.

If you are interested in joining, they are having another open house on Thursday at 6 p.m., at the CNY Philanthropy Center.
