This will be the first year New York voters will be able to vote 10 days before the general election.

In Onondaga County, sites will be open from 9 to 2 p.m. on the weekend, and hours will vary during the week.

Workers will also use electronic poll books to make the voter registration process easier and faster.

"If you go out and you vote early, if there's a problem with your voter registration, if you're not sure where you're registered to vote, these voting centers are designed so you can go to any one of them and vote," said Dustin Czarny, the Onondaga County Democractic elections commissioner. "And if there is a problem, we have a few days to fix it."

There are six polling locations right now.

However, Czarny is pushing for two more sites at Cicero Town Hall and Onondaga Community College by the May 29 deadline.
