The Baldwinsville School District said Friday that the Onondaga County Sheriff's Office determined a teacher who allegedly sent a website link to students which contained a link to pornography will not face any criminal charges.

Officials began investigating the incident earlier this week. The school district filed a report to the New York State Education department as well as local law enforcement.

Authorities said the teacher, using Google Docs, sent students links to websites for the purpose of a homework assignment.

It was determined that one of those links was to a website that was no longer functional as an educational link and contained pornography.

The incident remains under investigation by the Baldwinsville Central School District to ensure that all procedures and protocols were followed.

The teacher remains on leave from his position. However, because this is a confidential personnel matter, the district will have no additional comment.

“The district is reviewing all of its internet protocols and safety measures to ensure that our students remain safe,” said Superintendent Matthew McDonald.
