NEW YORK - Governor Andrew Cuomo on Tuesday announced the second confirmed case of Coronavirus in the state.

The governor says the patient is a man from Westchester in his 50s who had an underlying respiratory illness.

He remains hospitalized in serious condition.

Cuomo says he was originally hospitalized in Westchester and then transfered to NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center in Manhattan.

The governor said the New Rochelle resident, an attorney who works in Manhattan, recently traveled to Israel and Miami.

Cuomo said this is a case of "community spread" Coronavirus, meaning it cannot be traced back to China or foreign travel.

Governor Cuomo says the patient has a child who attends SAR Academy, a private high school in North Riverdale. The school closed as a precaution

School officials add to remain calm and follow the preventative measures to combat the virus.

Mayor Bill de Blasio says a second son of the patient attends Yeshiva University in Manhattan. This son is said to be exhibiting symptoms.

Both students are isolated at their home in Westchester and will be monitored and tested.

Additionally, Governor Cuomo says two families in Buffalo that recently traveled to Italy are in isolation and being tested.

At a briefing in Albany Tuesday, the governor signed a bill providing $40 million for the state's Coronavirus response.

He also urged New Yorkers to stay calm.

"Eighty percent of people who get this virus will self resolve, they may not even know they have it. Twenty percent could get ill. The lethality rate estimated by CDC is 1.4 percent," Cuomo said.

Mayor de Blasio says the test for this latest patient was performed by the New York City Public Health Laboratory on its first day of testing and that there will likely be more positive cases.

This all comes after a woman in Manhattan became the first person to test positive for the virus in the state.

The 39-year-old is a health care professional who contracted the virus while working in Iran with her husband, who is also a health care worker.

Both are quarantined in their home.

Her husband's results are still pending.
