The Baldwinsville community is mourning the loss of one of their own.

Pat Landers, 32, was shot to death in Mexico. According to KTSM in El Paso, Landers and his girlfriend, Karla Baca, were driving a black jeep with New York plates when they were gunned down across the border in Juarez. Investigators say more than 20 shots were fired into the jeep.

The article also states that police say Baca was a Physical Education teacher in Juarez.

Back in Central New York, Landers’ loved ones are left heartbroken, especially his friend Adam Howe. Howe says he was a "good man."

"I want people to know he was a great father and loved his son Cameron,” said Howe. “He loved him more than anything in the world.”

Howe also says Landers was an avid golfer who loved traveling and his dog. He also had a great sense of humor which Howe will miss the most.

Howe plans to hold a golf tournament in honor of Landers and donate the proceeds to his son.
