Deputies in Oneida County are investigating a fight involving several students and a parent who allegedly had a handgun Thursday at the Madison-Oneida BOCES in Verona.

At about noon, the school resource officer was alerted about a fight between multiple students in the building.

While investigating the fight, the deputy was called to another confrontation involving several other students and a parent. The sheriff’s office says they are investigating an allegation that a parent had a handgun.

Deputies are still working to see if there was in fact a gun brought onto the campus. They say there is no imminent threat to any students or school members.

It's not clear whether any charges will be filed, or what motivated the two incidents.
