Friends and family are remembering the life of Bianca Devins, one year after the Utica teenager was tragically killed.

"It's been the hardest year; we miss Bianca every day,” said Bianca’s mother, Kim Devins.

Devins was just 17-years-old when she was killed by Cicero native, Brandon Clark, on Boilermaker Sunday. After her murder, photographs of the scene were spread across social media.

"And then cruel people sent those to us via social media, and it was just incredible how much cruelty there was in these people's hearts,” said Frank Williams, Devins’ grandfather.

"It's devastating to not only to lose your daughter, but then to have to have those horrible images, and be sent to you over and over and over,” Kim added.

Gruesome images that are still making the rounds.

"We still to this day, Bianca's family and friends are getting messages with the pictures, just constant harassment for the past year, and it's started to come back full force again,” Kim said.

Bianca’s family has been working with Congressman Anthony Brindisi to push for change on what’s allowed on social media.

"We're working now to develop a law to make sure no family has to go through this again, and I've been working very closely with the Devins family to try and make that happen,” says Brindisi.

The family has also started a change.org petition calling for the creation of “Bianca’s Law,” to, "change social media policies and force social media [platforms] to be held accountable for what they allow on their websites,” said Kim.

Pushing for change as friends and family remember her on what they’re calling her first “angelversary.”

"We'd like everyone to remember that Bianca was a talented artist, she had a beautiful smile, she loved to swing, she loved her cat Belle, and they're both resting together,” Williams said.

Devins’ killer, Brandon Clark, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder back in February.
