Since he first entered the transfer portal back in November, we've all been wondering when Jimmy Boeheim would make his next move, and if he would do the obvious and come "home" to play for his namesake. The former Cornell star told Spectrum News in a Zoom interview Wednesday that he's finally made his decision, and he has an answer.

And he plans to announce it on social media by the end of this week, either Thursday or Friday.

Will he be running out of the tunnel at the Carrier Dome next season? We're all about to find out, including his famous father, SU coach Jim Boeheim, who watched his eldest son drop 25 points on his team the last time Cornell played a game at Syracuse, during Jimmy's junior season. His senior season at Cornell was wiped out this past year when the Ivy League decided not to cancel all of its sports competition because of the pandemic.

Leading Jimmy to the portal, along with more than 1,300 others as of Wednesday afternoon. And he's had plenty of time to think about his next move, considering the long layoff since he last suited up for the Big Red in March of 2019.

Boeheim says he's talked to between 10-20 programs, and he's set his sights on transferring to a "high major" because he feels like he's earned that right with his play at Cornell the last three seasons. He also says his younger brother, Buddy, has been recruiting him to come back "home", and play for their dad, and suit up with Buddy for another season, like they did during Jimmy's senior year at J-D High School. He says he wants to go somewhere where he can play and contribute, because he plans to keep playing after college is over.

Stay tuned to Jimmy's Instagram and Twitter accounts for his decision.

It'll certainly be a big one, no matter where he ends up.
