MARCELLUS, N.Y. -- It's the Tuesday after Labor Day, which means it's the time for the 14th annual Folds of Honor golf tournament at Tuscarora, and that means patriotic head covers decked out with stars and stripes.

The tournament funds scholarships for military kids who have lost a parent. Paul Vollmer served three tours in Iraq, and he appreciates any acts of kindness for those who served.

"I don't push for any fame or glory or anything like that. I go about my day, and if someone says 'thank you for your service,' it touches my heart because I don't expect anything. I did my duty and I did my service and that's how I go about my day," Paul Vollmer, a 20-year army veteran says.

The tournament alone has raised more than 300 thousand dollars over the years.
