RALEIGH, N.C. — Large North Carolina cities like Raleigh, Charlotte, and Greensboro are often the focus of many. But this week, it’s the rural parts of the state that are gaining the attention as state, local, and national leaders gather to try to solve some of the biggest issues they face.

The 3rd annual Rural Day in Raleigh on Tuesday, March 25 will feature the likes of former Ohio Gov. John Kasich, the National Rural Healh Organization’s Alan Morgan, and former FCC Commissioner Mignon Clyburn. Breakout sessions will focus on broadband connectivity, small businesses, and health, including the opioid crisis.
Sold out this year with more than 630 people expected to attend from 85 different North Carolina counties, the point of Rural Day is talk about best practices, and how to learn from those already seeing success. A unified voice is wanted to help make state policies work for rural regions, and help tackle issues impacting our communities like the opioid crisis.
