CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Police are looking for suspects who attacked a couple in a busy area in Uptown last weekend.

  • A woman says she and her boyfriend were attacked in Brevard Court, a busy part of Uptown.
  • Her injuries include a black eye, cuts and bruises.
  • Brevard Court is private property and there are no city surveillance cameras in the area.

The woman says she and her boyfriend were leaving Brevard Court, right near Romare Bearden Park, when they were randomly assaulted.

She didn't want to go on camera, but did provide pictures of her injuries, including a black eye, cuts and bruises.

She says there were at least five attackers, who were assaulting them until bystanders broke it up.

“To me, in that moment, it seemed like if I didn't fight for my life, to get out of this, then they were going to beat to a pulp where I couldn't remember anything at all,” says the woman.

The woman's boyfriend was also injured. Brevard Court is private property and there are no city surveillance cameras in the area.
