ROCK HILL, S.C. – A major water main break is causing some issues including canceling classes for the rest of the day at a nearby university Wednesday afternoon.

York County officials say “millions and millions of gallons of water” is spilling out to streets from the Rock Hill water filter plant on Cherry Road. Neighbors are experiencing little to no water pressure and are asked to reduce water use as much as possible.

Winthrop University tweeted about canceling class for the remainder fo the day due to the issue.

A boil water advisory is also in place for all water customers in the county including businesses.

Additionally, classes have been cancelle Thursday for schools in Rock Hill.
